Part 8: A Year at a Glance ~ Baliwood Wedding & Events

This one was one of our bigger weddings of the year.  The challenge:  Outdoors, NO Tent, No Sub-floor, and a lot of acres to cover!!!  We were fortune enough to gain this amazing wedding, as the mother of the bride, while having planned many family events before, thought this one needed the extra help.  And another Indian Wedding!  Bali Style.....!!  The colors Lavender, Aubergine, Plum, Champagne and Gold were presented both Elegant and Glamorous !  We began the set on the Wednesday before Labor Day, this amazing week had us with all hands on deck.  A Henna Party took place on Wednesday night followed by Traditional Ceremonies the following morning. We begin our design by first setting our Specialty Octagon Tent adding a ceiling treatment of swag in rich colors and textiles and of course shimmery chandeliers.  Up lighting for the evenings event revolved though all the colors in the rainbow while Moroccan Style Lanterns flickered and Bold Linens created a fun and colorful Moroccan flare.

Friday night was to be a Dinner for 450 people with traditional dances at the Brooklyn Baptist Church Convention Center.

The entire design was made entirely of Flower Petals !!!

Saturday Morning ~ the ceremony was to take place at the ajoining estate by the River.  Our Crew will never forget the grueling hill and 1 mile walk to the MandapThe only way to transport the 300 white padded garden chairs to the ceremony site.  Each chair was tied with Eggplant Taffeta Sashes.   We custom designed and built the Mandap after many months of planning. The reinforced stage trimmed in Eggplant Taffeta and topped with cream carpet was strong enough to park a car on and it needed to be.   Each pillar of the custom Mandap weighed over 450 lbs after we covered them that morning completely with flowers.   Over 1800 Cream and Purple Hydrangeas,  and over 1200 Vendella and Coolwater Roses to be exact.   The top of the Mandap had a tailor made white organza cover.  Indian ceremonial furniture awaited the bride and groom.  A runner scattered with fresh ivory rose petals completed the look. In this riverside setting with trees dripping in Spanish moss.

The Front of the Family State also being set between the Barrat and Guest arrivals was challenging but he end result was stunning!

Guests awaited the Barat, dressed in there finest Indian Silk

As the pulsing beat of the Indian music filled the air, the Barat emerged, dancing along shouting and clapping surrounding the groom who is lead on horseback to the ceremony area

After the ceremony guests walked back up the hill to the family estate for a Cocktail reception Pool side and River side.  This stunning setting was enhance by our White Tabletop Bars, Eggplant Taffeta Linens, White Napoleon Chairs, and custom designed eight foot, three tiered, floating pool centerpiece, that  took me over 1200 blooms of Hydrangeas, Roses, Spider Mums, Ranunculus, and Mini Calas. and Large Crystal Spheres added blink and sparkle.  And lets not forget plenty of Indian Style Hors d'oeuvres freshly prepared by local Specialty Indian Chefs.

After Cocktails guests were ushered to the front of the family estate.  The circular driveway with it's four tiered fountain, now the dance floor, enhanced with breakup patterns, fuchsia up lights and LED Bars.  The house up lit in Purple.  The patio boasted a 20 ft Viennese Dessert Table with Urns of Hot Chai Tea, Vintage Carnival Glass vessels and Unique Platters of decadent Desserts

The Dining Tables Alternated Champagne Pintuck Taffeta and Solid Champagne Taffeta Linens.  Each Guest had one of our Napoleon Chairs in Gold with Ivory Seat Cover; Each Place setting received Gold Chargers with Eggplant Menu fold Napkins and printed menu cards revealing the family style Indian Cuisine that was to be served.  Centerpieces also alternated the tables some with tall Trumpet vases crowned in Purple and White flowers, others with Ornate Cages filled with glowing pillar candles and enhanced with flowers and some lower cascading arrangements with sparkling crystals.

The entire dining space was surrounded by our LuminAire Lighted Spheres in warm white and 9 foot crystal columns each lit in Purple along with some of the tall surrounding trees

And but of course a surprise Fireworks Show!  That we set off to none other than "Firework" by Katie Perry. A surprise only the bride and other new about.  And of course our Videographer Siegel Films and Tim Touch Photography.  Ironically after three extremely very hot and humid days of setting up this vast property, wouldn't you know that Mother Nature would decide to throw a bit of wind our way, just in time for the fireworks to be set off.  But with careful timing my husband and crew managed to pull it off in stunning fashion.  The gasp from the crowd whom had since all been coaxed to the dance floor was priceless !  It was here that guests branded this event  the Baliwood Wedding.  And so it shall be!

Our Sweetheart Table design exclusively for the Bride and Groom set atop a custom platform.  The linens gathered with ornate gold and crystal brooches and a unique purple carnival glass vase with cascading flowers blemished the table of this handsome couple as with looked on toward the dance floor where special speeches were given while speakers were in the spot light by my audio Visual Team

Indian Lounge furniture gave the guests a luxurious dance floor side advantage to mingle and sip cocktails or head to the Desserts Tables for a bite of something sweet.

An amazing event with an amazing family!  What a treat for guests in attendance! Coming from as far as London and India to attend this one of a kind event!  They danced until 2:00am under the stars until heading back down the 150 foot drive lit in fairy lights to awaiting shuttles to take them safely back to their hotels!

A huge thank you to all the made this event come to be!
My team, relentless in their approach in striving for a beautiful outcome.  From the set of tables and chairs on over a more than 8 acre property, to the flowers, custom lighting and fireworks.  This was a stunning wedding!  Nature is always at hand at an outdoor venue from traveling long distances over uneven ground to hot summer days and humid summer nights.  This event went extremely well considering it had rained up until the Tuesday before this grand day, so needless to say everyone was worried, but on that night it could not have been more beautiful!

Thank you the the "Baliwood Wedding Family" for being this over the top event our way!
